Susan Nicholas Gephart recently became a Certified Instructor and Product Demonstrator for Jack Richeson and Co. Fine Art Materials in oils and pastels, and Gamblin Mediums. Susan Nicholas Gephart received a distinguished honor from Montgomery County Community College, near Philadelphia, where she got a 1977 Associate in Art, prior to her BFA Degree at PSU. In May she was nominated "Distinguished Alumni", and went through a rigorous review process with the MCCC Alumni Association Board of Directors. Susan was selected to be inducted into the MCCC Alumni Hall of Fame 2007, on October 5th, at their celebration ceremony! Kathleen Muffie-Witt was selected as a finalist for The Jack Richeson 75: Figure/Portrait Competition. The competition was sponsored by the Richeson School of Art & Gallery Kimberly, Wisconsin. The jury judge was the famous portrait artist Everett Raymond Kinstler. Kathleen was one of 75 finalists selected. Her work was titled "Beach Pony."
Laura Winn Kane's figure pastel, "The Beaded Choker" was selected by Bob Rohm for inclusion in the Maryland Pastel Society's "Shades of Pastel 2007 National Juried Exhibition" at the Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda, MD through October 20. Laura recently got notice from Strathmore that the piece has been SOLD!
